Tom Ricketts two bites at the cherry

MORAL FIBRE to Tom Ricketts and his retired New Zealand teacher wife Jane is some kind of laxative, to keep them regular and in the company of Fiji’s illegal wannabe politicians, the scum of the earth.

MORAL FIBRE it seems has never been about personal integrity for Ricketts and his wife and that is doing the right thing while setting their own ethical standards.

Shock horror, Jane was a school teacher and now I hate to think the sort of principled ethics that was taught to the children. Most of us will strive towards personal integrity that should eventually benefit society as a whole but sadly not the Ricketts. The path that they have chosen is a sad and detrimental one to their contribution to society.

Tom Ricketts is now a confirmed board member of FNPF and Amalagamated Telecom Holdings Limited after he had resigned from being a former military regime minister. This is disgusting and pathetic for now we are told that he is back again for more illegal short lived fame. That is all he is after as he couldn’t achieve it any other way even with his experience in the commercial sector working for the Westpac Bank. Ask those that worked with Ricketts in the Westpac Bank and they will tell you the kind of bank employee he was. As a Kai Loma his seniors tried to push him up the ladder but he didn’t have the capacity for further advancement.

People like Ricketts, Epeli Gaunilau for selfish reasons would never take into consideration that people didn’t vote for them at the last Democratic General Election in which both of them didn’t win their seats. They also didn’t think that in order for us to trust them, their worth and integrity must be constantly proven over time.

Now that Fiji is a dictatorship we do not have the choice but to put our trust in Ricketts that we will be financially comfortable when it is time for us to retire. What choice do we have?

“Trustworthiness is a moral value, considered to be a virtue and always doing what is right every minute of the day.” Sadly it will not apply to those that have backed a dishonest horse right from the start.

The people of Fiji are in deep trouble because we do not have any say in the accountability of people like Ricketts if they do not perform for our benefit.
