Barrack Obama’s win as President elect of USA has many contributing factors. But topping that list was the desire by the American people to come together and to completely vote out the Republican administration that has tattered them to bits in the past years.

They’ve had enough of Bush’s leadership by fear and were bursting to be inspired. That inspirational leader came in the form of the under-dog Obama whose natural gifts were a perfect fit to what the American people were looking for in a leader.

Kind of mirrors what’s happening in Fiji right now. The people are tired of all the bullying and the shallow childish talks by Frank and have lost interest in everything Frank like his charter. They are also disappointed of the Qarase-led SDL/FLP multiparty for allowing the coup to have happened under their noses despite all those vocal threats by Frank . Many say Qarase’s camp was not vigilant enough and were too complacent. They say Qarase was stupid not to have included Frank as a key player in his administration for Frank also have some positive attributes that could have helped Qarase greatly.

The people are disappointed with Mahendra Chaudhry for being a liar. They are disappointed with the military regime for stealing their freedom and liberty. They want to be inspired by someone. But who and where is that someone who has the Obama-like flair?

We think Fiji’s people are ready to vote in someone new as their leader. This someone, we believe will have no political history, is a silent doer but speaks with authority when he goes on stage, has a strong relationship with Almighty God and a man of humility. We don’t know who that person is just yet but this is our list of attributes for the leader Fiji’s people are looking for:

  1. He must have the courage to stay strong
  2. He must be confident fuelled by the strength of Almighty God
  3. He must have the ability to learn from errors
  4. He must have a willingness to change
  5. He must possesse emotional intelligence
  6. He must have self-control
  7. He must have a popular touch
  8. He must be a moral compass
  9. He must have the capacity to relax
  10. He must have a natural gift to inspire Fiji’s people

Do you know of anyone who fits the bill?

One Response to “So where is Fiji’s Barrack Obama?”

The book of Eclessiatias offers the thought that’there is a time for everything’.

We are now experiencing Frank’s time. Soon his time will come to an end and the time for Fiji’s Obama will come.

    Only a matter of time!
